Anagnorisis

Anagnorisis

"From a wild weird clime that lieth, sublime,
Out of SPACE—Out of TIME."
Dream-Land, Edgar Allan Poe
"At every moment of our lives, we all have one foot in a fairy tale and the other in the abyss."
Paul Coelho
"The earth we inhabit is an error, an incompetent parody. Mirrors and paternity are abominable because they multiply and affirm it."
Hakim, Masked Dyer of Merv, Borges
"Just as the principle character of an ordinary dawn is mystery, the outstanding character of this dawn was wildness. It did not baffle the understanding, but the heart."
A Voyage to Arcturus, David Lindsay

Prelude

The void rumbles: a quantum drone. Dusty winds from unknown places howl with black static. The whisperings between the stars take root in this æther and begin to spread notes of sapience, quavers of substance. The thrum of dimensions rises, distorts, crescendos in madness, then subsides and is devoured by a primordial chord. Its waves still lap the shores of Anagnorisis.
